Laurent, P.C. has concentrated on providing legal services, advice, support and consultation to doctors of chiropractic in all aspects of their business and their professional practices throughout Texas, as well as many other states across the nation. With increasing frequency state and federal laws are being passed that impose stricter governmental regulation on health care providers. Many of these laws directly impact the way a doctor must provide patient treatment, code and bill such patient treatment, market and advertise his or her professional services and maintain an efficient and cost effective health care practice – all the while remaining in compliance with the ever changing fraud and abuse legal landscape. Timely and proper legal guidance and advice may mean the difference between successful participation or a side line seat watching your competition expand their professional practice at your expense. Larry Laurent is experienced in working with doctors of chiropractic in each of these areas, as well as various other legal issues faced by chiropractors in their daily professional practices. Mr. Laurent lectures statewide on the application of state and federal laws impacting the practice of chiropractic and is recognized as a lawyer knowledgeable in the format and proper application of the laws governing the chiropractic profession. During the eight years Mr. Laurent spent as a Special Assistant Attorney General of Texas trying cases before our State’s administrative agencies he gained extensive experience and insight which he provides his clients in contested cases in state and federal courtrooms, as well as before Texas’ healthcare licensing boards and our State’s Office of Administrative Appeals. Mr. Laurent serves as an assistant professor of Business Law at the McCoy School of Business at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where he teaches two courses each semester to business and non-business majors. Mr. Laurent also serves as an adjunct professor at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas where he teaches a fifteen hour course each trimester on “Business Law for Chiropractors”. |
